US Budget Cuts Posted in Economy by admin - Jan 23, 2012
Salary of retired US Presidents ………….$180,000 FOR LIFE
Salary of House/Senate …………………..$174,000 FOR LIFE   This is stupid
Salary of Speaker of the House ………….$223,500 FOR LIFE This is stupid
Salary of Majority/Minority Leaders ……. $193,400 FOR LIFE This is stupid
Average Salary of a teacher …………….  $40,065
Average Salary of Soldier
DEPLOYED IN AFGHANISTAN ……………….. $38,000
I think we found where the cuts should be made!
And don’t give me the reasoning that the pay for our elected officials needs to be high so we can attract the best and the brightest from the private sector.  If the current session of elected officials is the best we can to offer lets capitulate now.  I’m sure if we put our country up for sale all of us could retire permanently.

Members of Congress are eligible for a pension at age 62 if they have completed at least five years of service (Senators are elected for a minimum of 6 years)
They are eligible for a pension at age 50 if they have completed 20 years of service, or at any age after completing 25 years of service
Luckily they can conduct insider trading legally so they can further pad these benefits!
